So I had my first midwife appointment which was nice to make it feel a little bit more real.. kind of?!
It was a long appointment where she asked me 101 questions about mine and Ant‘s previous and family medical history, she took a urine sampe (which I brought with me in a shot glass as I know I am too pee shy to go in public places! Bane of my life honestly..) and did a blood test, which I thought I'd be nervous for but jheeze, it was easy and even more jheeze, I'm gonna give birth so better get a grip!
All went fine and I also got another appointment booked in for the 12 week scan and the 16 week midwife appointment.
On the Friday of that week, we headed up to Manchester to see my dad and fam with Connor and Emily.
I love seeing my family but god, it's always so long in between visits and then they fly by!
So, again time to tell them the news.. I was so bloody nervous!! Argh, I dont know why I cant control my heart rate and nerves, It’s so weird. Dad caught me and Emily smirking at each other cos she was telling me to hurry up and tell them on Whatsapp. So again, the awkward person I am I just sorta blurted it out when Dad was like tell me why you're smirking at each other!!
The reaction was lovely anywho, dad put his hands to his mouth in surprise and right away stood up to cuddle me, Karen welled up and was another one to be like this better not be a joke!
I then sat in between them and had a little snuggle as we discussed dates and whatnot. It was really nice and makes me so happy when people are so happy for us! I also told my lil sister the next day who was equally as excited!
The rest of the weekend was so much fun, we went to junkyard golf and got awesome c/mocktails at this place, covered in sweeties. Dad won the golf and has been reminding us frequently about it ever since! We went to the pub afterwards and had such a good laugh, playing I have never, which you know, isn't as fun when you're sober cos you dont want to tell people the stuff you've been up to when you're not pissed LOL!
Sunday we just slobbed round dads until we got up to leave and head back home. Another awesome but really quick weekend.
